Weekdays

Weekdays 9 to 12 and 3 to 6, Saturdays 9 to 12, closed on Sundays.

What we see them for

Mainly dogs and cats, and the occasional rabbit. If you're not sure whether we can help, phone and ask.

  • Check-ups and consultations

When something isn't right, or just to be sure.

  • Vaccinations

Puppy and kitten courses, yearly boosters, and rabies, which the law requires for every dog and cat.

  • First visits

Weighed, checked, vaccinated, and photographed with the chalkboard.

  • Sterilisation

Spays and neuters for dogs and cats.

  • Surgery and wound care

Lumps, stitches, abscesses and the cleaning up after.

  • Older pets

Wellness checks for the grey-muzzled: joints, weight, teeth and comfort.

  • Ticks, fleas and worms

The right dose for their size, on a schedule you'll remember.

  • Teeth

Checks at every visit, and cleaning under anaesthetic when it's needed.

  • Microchips

A chip and a registration, so a lost pet finds its way home.

  • Food and treats

Everyday and prescription diets, at the counter.

Every first visit goes on the board

New puppies and kittens are weighed, checked over and photographed with the chalkboard: se 1ste veeartsbesoek, their first vet visit. These are some of the latest.

Dr Chris and the team

Lynburn is a small practice. You'll see the same faces at every visit: Dr Chris, the nurses, and the front desk who know your dog's name before you've said it.

Jancke, a qualified veterinary nurse, joined the team in January 2023.

Good to know

Fireworks are coming

Guy Fawkes and New Year's Eve are the worst nights of the year for many dogs. Keep them inside with the curtains closed, check their tag has your number, and if yours panics every year, see us a few weeks before.

Fireworks in Tshwane need the City's permission. Complaints: 012 358 7095/6.

Tick season means biliary

A dog that's suddenly flat, off its food, or has pale gums after a tick bite needs to be seen the same day. Phone us on the way.

Keep their tick treatment up to date from spring to autumn.

Getting older

Slower on the stairs, drinking more, a lump you hadn't noticed: book a wellness check. A lot of what slows older pets down can be eased.

Once a year from about seven; twice a year from ten.

An emergency after hours? Go straight to a 24-hour animal hospital. During the day, phone on your way so we're ready when you arrive.
